Top notch breakfast / Lunch place.... I've known the owner since the late '70s.I was overseas for some 25 years and just got home to find this place just as homey and cheerful as it was from my memories.If you go on a Sunday morning, be ready for a short wait as this place gets swarmed by the locals... And with good reason... The food has excellent.... The service friendly and efficient.... And I've never had better Eggs Benedict in my life. Go with hunger and confidence... And bring the kids.

Great food, service and nice outdoor seating. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite when in Carmel. I had a waffle which was delish and my hubby ordered a roast beef sandwich which he gobbled in two minutes, that is how tasty the food was. Waitresses were super friendly and prices super affordable! Would definitely like to come back!

Busy local diner you would drive passed, if not for the many people frequenting on weekends, coming and going, grabbing attention crossing the road. It's open breakfast and lunch. We were there for breakfast. Waitress was friendly, and helpful when asked questions. We didn't feel rushed, though there were people waiting. Food was prepared the way I had asked (medium easy over eggs and lightly toasted bread). Coffee was tasty. Have added George's into diner rotation.

Went here with my Aunt and girlfriend for the first time. This is a good place. Nice family owned local business. I had the breakfast combo with French toast and eggs. Really good. My lady had the waffle, also good. My Aunt had a tuna melt, looked good but I do not eat seafood so I couldn't tell you.On their menu it states that they offer chowder. When we asked, their was no chowder. My Aunt was really looking forward to it. You shouldn't offer something in writing if you don't have it or can't make it.The service, I felt was OK. The server wasn't the friendlest and I felt she was bothered by customers being there.All in all, I would go back for a good breakfast. Decent place.

Friendly staff and always good food

I'm a bit biased because this place is in my town. But, as a foodie, I rate this 5 stars based on 2 words; George McMuffin. Maybe the greatest breakfast sandwich ever. They make great pancakes also. This is also a landmark in Carmel. I believe they opened in the 1960's. They maintain their local family owned charm. It's a simple country eatery serving breakfast and lunch. It's on the main Street with a beautiful view of the reservoir across the street. It's not hip or trendy, and doesn't try to be. It's wonderful in it's unpretentiousness.

Had s greatlate breakfast on the veranda,a nice omelette, soft as I requested. Food and service A1.

Great service! Lovely view of the lake. It was updated and very clean. The food was delicious and made with love! We will definitely come again soon!

Food quality was s bit higher than your regular dinner (better than Denny's for sure), we were serves promptly and coffee was good! My son enjoyed his portion and we were full until dinner! Staff was friendly and not overly clown-like friendly. We were pleasantly surprised with our bill- it was $18 less than we paid for a lil less food at Denny's two days earlier. Will eat here again and bring friends.

I come here some Sunday mornings and my boyfriend is always happy with his Gluten free pancakes - you would never believe that they are Gluten free - seriously! I have my normal breakfast sandwich - always good 😁
